2. Matters Arising from the Previous Minutes

These were agreed as a true record.

Southfield Road Garages

No reply had been received from Miss Masood regarding the prospect of the erection of a fence to limit access to the rear of the garages although the meeting was informed there was unlikely to be any money available from Nottingham City Homes for this work this year. Susan had requested a quote anyway to see if the funds were available from an alternative location depending on level of cost. At the moment only one of the three garages are occupied and this person is currently in the process of creating a drive space for their car.

3. Robert Shaw Playing Field

A meeting was held between James Tilford (Parks Development Manager), Karen Coker, Richard Beckett (Education) and Susan Ward-Rice. Following this meeting a proposal was put forward to the committee that the school were to remain holders of the land and an agreement of use could be drawn up with the assistance of the Property Services department. James was to discuss with his service head to see if the Parks Department could contribute towards maintenance. If this was the case Streetscene would have to be used, if not other contractors could be used. At the time of the meeting Property Services hadn’t allocated a individual to work on the agreement.

With the proposal put forward to the committee the group would have to arrange and fund insurance itself to which Susan costed at between £500 and £1000 a year. Richard Beckett was going to try and provide a list of possible funding sources for application to meet this cost. The application would have to be done by the group itself.

It was agreed to obtain possible costs of the routine maintenance from contractors other than Streetscene and wait to see what the draft proposal involves before any commitment could be made by the committee.

4. Community Chest Application

It was agreed that an application should be made from the suggestions for the Nottingham Forest tickets for the specified age group and should the opportunity arise again an application would be made for another age group.

5. Dorothy Grove to Western Boulevard Path

The meeting was informed that the School has plans to attend to the overgrown plants/trees growing in to the Dorothy Grove cut through to Western Boulevard.

6. Any Other Business

New Bridge Steps

The steps on New Bridge have been cleared by a local resident.

Double Yellow Lines

The question of further double yellow lines on more corners on the estate. Councillor Long informed the meeting that there were no plans for more than those that already exist.

7. Date of Next Meeting
